My cat's foot cut has a big, strange scab. Is it healing well?

If there is a scab on it, that means it is healing and I would leave it alone for now. Monitor it, and if it doesn't appear to be healing or if the area appears to be infected (redness, swelling, warmth to the touch, pus), then I would take Monkey into the vet for an exam.

It actually looks like Lulu’s wound is healing very nicely. The redness will continue to resolve slowly over the next few days. I would recommend continuing the ointment your vet prescribed until the area is completely cleared and appears pink, instead of red. Another scab may form and this is fine. Just continue to keep the area clean, dry and medicated. It looks as if it will be completely healed in about another week. I hope this helps. If the lesions get bigger or spread to the other two paws, then he will need to see his veterinarian. If he is limping now, I would have him seen tomorrow. Otherwise, you can bring it up at his next vaccine appointment. He may have a scab from a previous wound. In the meantime, make sure that he is not licking or biting at the paws. You can switch out her litter to something such as Yesterday's News so that it is not painful to walk on. I would also apply a topical ointment such as Sentry wound cream (can be found at Petco) and apply twice daily for 3-5 days. This should heal fine on its own. If you begin to notice swelling of the foot or pus coming from the area, then I would take her in to be seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If it is not painful and it is not soft and squishy (like an abscess) and he is eating/drinking and acting normally then I would suggest that you just leave it alone. Looks like he healed up just fine! Best wishes!

As long as it is not bothering Koda, she is not scratching the ear excessively and there is no discharge around the scab, you should monitor her at home. It should fully heal up in 5-7 days. However, if the ear becomes swollen or painful, you will have to take her to your local vets for an appointment.
