Which cat food is best for heart health and has essential taurine?

Hello, Taurine is an absolutely essential amino acid for cats and should be in any diet Coshida eats. A diet without taurine will cause cats to go blind and into early heart failure, as well as many other health problems. I hope this is helpful. If Taffy is predisposed to urinary problems / crystals, I would recommend considering a prescription diet such as Hills C/D or Royal Canin Urinary SO. I would also consider a cranberry supplement such as Paxon, which can be found online quite easily. Increasing water intake is also key. A recirculating water fountain and feeding a canned diet can help with this. I hope this helps! I personally prefer Purina, Royal canin and Science Diet foods as they are of high quality and have research to back up their use. Any of their variations should be good for Maddi. Your cat is not a wild cat and does not need protein only diets. They also need grains and carbohydrates in their diet to be balanced and complete. Most veterinarians recommend the top 4 brands of pet food- Hill's/Science Diet, Purina, Iams, and Royal Canin. We also recommend any diet you chose to have a statement on the bag regarding its use in AAFCO feeding trials and not just formulated according to AAFCO requirements. This means it is used for complete and balanced nutrition for a specific life stage (vs. “intermittent and supplemental feeding” which should be fed only as treat items). This means that the diet has actually been fed to a group of animals and they thrived, instead of someone simply calculating a “good diet” in a computer program. I hope this helps! Don't believe those sites. Typically they are written by people who have absolutely no training in animal nutrition. The best brands of cat food are Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. They meet AAFCO standards, run feeding trials, and (most important), have veterinary nutritionists on staff that ensure the food is healthy and balanced. They are the only brands to have this. I feed my cats Iams, and they love it (including my Persian).

Some cats like Noushmc may sometimes like odd foods. Cats however need specific amino acids to maintain heart health so I recommend to feed a commercial cat food that is fortified to have the daily nutritional needs met. In general Royal Canin, Purina and Iams all make quality cat foods. The dry kibble or the canned food are both fine and many people feed a combination of the two. There is a lot of misconception when it comes to pet food. Grains are not bad for pets as long as they are the right kind, high-quality and easy to digest. They provide many essential amino acids that are not found in animal products. Royal Canin and Science Diet are both high quality brands with lots of research, data and good quality control. Switching to the recommended diet is the best thing you can do for Mercy. The diet contains controlled protein, controlled phosphorus, controlled potassium and additional omega three fatty acid supplements as well as antioxidants. You can certainly supplement her as it is not likely to hurt but the main control for kidney disease will be found with the protein and phosphorus.
