Best cat flea collar for itchy skin? Or other vet-approved solutions?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 10 lbs

Just wondering if there's any good brand for cat flea collar that doctors would recommend. Been trying to look over the online, but it seems like they are all the same. Or is there anything else that would cure my cat's itchy neck. Please help and Thanks

the only flea collar worth anything is Seresto. It is labeled for 8 months of prevention, but I would expect around 6 months. They have Bravecto now that is a topical and it will last for 3 months now. If those do not help you may want to look into a hypoallergenic diet also

Treating the fleas is the first step in dealing with a flea allergy. Revolution is a great product, but it may still take 3 or more months to control the flea infestation. You will also need to treat the inside of your house. Fleas like to hide in carpet and under furniture, so you will have to vacuum thoroughly (and then throw out the vacuum bag) to try to decrease the numbers of fleas. This will have to be repeated several times a week to capture the fleas as they hatch from eggs. As for the skin, preventing itching will allow the skin time to heal. You can use an e-collar and/or a cat shirt to protect the skin.

My cat has fleas, Seresto collar stopped. What's the best treatment?

Fleas can be frustrating to treat. I know that many people have a lot of success with Seresto collars, but I have not. In order to treat Bandit’s fleas, I recommend using a good quality topical product, such as Advantage (use monthly) or Bravecto (prescription based and used every 3 months). Flea shampoos are rarely effective and can cause irritation to the skin, so I tend to steer clear of them. Be sure to vacuum daily, dispose of the vacuum bag frequently, and wash Bandit’s bedding in hot water. Continue to apply flea medication regularly in order to disrupt the fleas’ life cycle to prevent a recurrence. I hope this helps and that all goes well for Bandit!

What's the best and most effective flea collar for my 10-pound dog?

The only decent flea collar is seresto. It is labeled for 8 months but the more you bathe them the shorter that period seems to be. So realistically you can get 5-6 months out of it. Bravecto tablets work well as it can last 3 months

What flea treatment is safe for my sensitive adult indoor cat?

Cats that are sensitive to topical flea treatments usually do OK with a flea collar. Not any old flea collar, specifically the Seresto Collar. I suggest you try it. One collar lasts 8 months and we have had really great success with using them. It is also the cheapest considering it lasts 8 months. What's the best flea treatment for a cat with sensitive skin & overgrooming?

If Mojo has sensitive skin, then I would consider an oral flea preventative instead of a topical one. It is a chewable tablet that only needs to be given once a month. Another option may be the Seresto collar ( https://www.petbasics.com/products/seresto/?WHGRedir=1 ) since that does not seem to be as irritating to cats with sensitive skin as the spot on treatments are. My dog has persistent fleas and won't stop scratching. What helps?

Treat the environment, both inside and out for fleas. then you can do a seresto collar that will last about 6 months to help repell the fleas from getting on him and give a bravecto tablet that will last for 3 months and kill an fleas that get on him. It is proven that good flea control must be utilized for at least 3 months straight to break the life cycle of the eggs to eliminate the problem. His skin does seem inflamed and infected so your vet may need to see him to give him antibiotics and possibily steriods to contorl the itching and clear the infection until the fleas get under control.
