Is my rescue cat's facial hair loss causing my ringworm infection?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | unspayed | 5 lbs

My cats are rescues and on their faces the hair is coming off and I ended up with ring worms on my left arm. Can you tell me what is going on?

If the hair is falling off from ring worm that would explain where you got it from. Cats can have ring worms and carry it to others. Hair loss in their face can also be from an allergy and maybbe unrelated to your lesions. Getting them checked by a vet can distinguish between the two for appropriate medicine. Until then, confining them is safest and minimizing contact
