Why is my cat's eye bald spot now a changing red/white growth?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Male | neutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 8 lbs

I am wondering What this is on top of my cats eye. It started as a bald spot about 2 years ago, then turned into a smaller version of the first pic (but fully white) but would change to red once and a while (I believe more often after fights with his cat mom) then revert back to white . This is the largest it has ever been, and it has never looked like the last pic until today, the whole thing would turn red not just one spot, this looks much more concerning than it ever has in past. See vet?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Growing skin lumps and tags should be investigated and treated. This one does not look like a typical benign and harmless ski tag (still could be !), so please take Fluffington to your local vets for an appointment. Your vet may recommend to treat it with anti-inflammatory cream or to aspirate it with a needle to find out what type of growth this is.
