Outdoor cat eats rats. Best flea/worm prevention & heartworm test?

Hello, you can use Advantage Multi for cats which is good for fleas, roundworms, hookworms, ear mites, and heartworm. In addition, you can use a seresto collar for cats which is good for cats and dogs. Before starting advantage multi, you should have him tested for heartworm. The rabies and his other yearly vaccines (FVRCP) should continued to be given yearly especially if he continues to be an indoor and outdoor cat. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Frend is so handsome, and he's so lucky that you have allowed yourselves to be adopted. Using a deworming treatment is an excellent idea, especially since he lives outdoors. I would recommend using Drontal or Panacur. You can get them from the vet (it would be a good idea to get him checked out by the vet, get him vaccines as well), and they are safe. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I like Bravecto for flea and ticks. It is a topical that works for 3 months. Then I would use interceptor monthly for heartworm and intestinal parasites. Or you can use Advantage Multi and the Seresto collar for the ticks. But you are right there isn't a product that gets everything for dogs or cats. Have a great day!

Hunting and killing mice and birds are a natural part of a cat's behavior, and the one thing I would be concerned about is if she is eating mice that may have gotten into mouse poison. This would poison her as well, but you can't stop this behavior unless you keep her indoors all the time. She should be on a regular deworming schedule, and she can be given Drontal once a month since she is a hunter. In terms of indoor/outdoor cats, it is a good idea to deworm them every three months regardless of the fecal test results. If this cat is a hunter as well, then I would deworm the cat monthly. Great question! Nexgard kills the deer tick as well as fleas and American dog tick/rocky mountain tick, and lone star tick. It is an oral pill as well, so I would us that for your dogs. Because Nexgard doesn't protect again heartworms, you will have to give your dogs Heartgard as well, which is available by prescription only from the vet. Advantix is a spot on treatment that treats the same things as Nexgard, but you would also have to use Heartgard as well for the heartworms. These two medications (Nexgard and Advantix) are for dogs only. As for the cats, Simparica prevents five types of ticks, so this may work for your cats :-)
