My cat eats too fast and vomits. Can I add water to her kibble?

You can look into getting a different slow feeder. Also, you can consider basically throwing her food (kibble) in a room which is going to spread it out and Jackie will have to eat it more slowly. There are a huge number of reasons that a cat will vomit. Since it sounds like Luna is mostly vomiting undigested food, she may simply be eating the dry food too quickly, so canned food is a great idea to try. Canned food is actually more biologically appropriate and better for a cat's health than dry food, so feeding Luna only canned food is a great idea. It's not necessary to add water to dry kibble before feeding, your pet can digest it fine without the water. The water does add extra moisture to the diet, so there's no harm in doing. I think half a cup of water to 1/3 cup of kibble is too much water, however, and if you want to soak the kibble, I would add just enough to moisten it. I think slow feeder bowls are better for eaters, as it reduces the risk of bloat occurring.

A kitten food is needed for both of them; boiled chicken breast is fine as a part of the diet but shouldn't be the sole food... isn't nutritionally balanced the way a kitten food is. One of the things we have found is that wet food is actually healthier for cats than dry food. I feed my cats wet food only. It is better for their kidneys long term and seems to help prevent obesity since dry food has to have carbohydrates in it that cats can't utilize well. The risk factors for bloat include feeding one large meal rather than 2-3 meals, feeding from raised bowls, exercising after a meal. Bloat is also more common in nervous dogs. As long as you try and avoid these risk factors, you can feed Spike moist kibbles.

But you first have to differentiate whethere whether Coix is vomting (obvious retching and forceful expulsion) or regurgitating (undigested food just seems to come out without much effort). Vomiting can be caused by inflammatory bowel disease, megaesophagus (typically causes regurgitation), a parasitic infection (not as common), or even an underlying congenital disorder. Most of these conditions are treatable. You should first start with some diagnostic testing to gather more information on your specific pets condition. Then we will know what needs to be done for Coix to help control his vomiting episodes a bit better. In general, you can continue to feed smaller portions and go with an easily digestible diet such as limited ingredient diets (i.e. Iams, Purina, Evo). This is something you can easily start while awaiting a proper vet visit and diagnostic work-up for Coix.
