Why does my cat have dry, non-fungal spots or scabs on his skin?

Poor Tiger. Is he itchy? If so, these dry spots could be scabs or sores from allergies. Make sure he doesn't have any fleas and he is on a good flea preventative. You could try an adult Benadryl twice a day to help if this is allergy related. Unfortunately he could also have a bacterial infection so if it isn't improving I would talk to your vet about an exam and possible antibiotics if needed. I hope this helps!

There are several things that could cause this. If it is in the location of a joint like an elbow then this could be a callous from laying on hard surfaces and nothing to worry about. Otherwise, this could be a fungal infection (ringworm), a bacterial infection, or simply allergies or dry skin. I would have your vet take a look at it so they can recommend the best oral meds if needed to help her improve. You could also try to bathe her with an oatmeal based shampoo to see if it improves. It is hard to say exactly what the cause of Onyx's skin condition may be without examining Onyx first, but red hairless lesions around the face and head are suspicious of a fungal infection or perhaps mites. There could be a couple of things causing these scabs such as mites, allergies, ringworm, or fleas. I think Miran should see a vet before Friday. The vet can diagnose what is causing this skin problem, and can treat him. Best of luck.

This is suspicious of ringworm (a fungal infection of the skin). This could also be due to a yeast or bacteria infection, but I think it's much more likely to be ringworm.. It's best to take him to the veterinarian soon, because ringworm can spread to different parts of the body and can spread to people. Also, the more involved the infection, the longer it will take to clear. The vet will be able to definitively diagnose it and give the best treatment.
