Cat still distant, litter issues, overgrooming after vet visit?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It sounds that your cat had a thorough investigation at your vets. Some cats are lethargic and less playful when they have fever (I guess that was checked by your vet) or painful condition, for example muscle pain, joint pain, spinal pain and more. If his activity is not back to normal in 2-3 days I would suggest trying a short course of anti-inflammatory medications.

I wold be concerned about the lethargy and the vomiting, although vomiting may be related to the change in diet it may also be related to kidney disease. More lab tests would be required in order to investigate the elevated urea and elevated red blood count which may be related to a degree of dehydration at the time of sampling also. A urine (especially specific gravity) and repeat blood panel (fasting at least 12hours) with a view to repeat assessment of urea, creatinine and electrolytes would be important to assess kidney function

It sounds like it is time to have Sweet Pea examined by a vet. The lumps and bumps could be fat deposits, or they could be something more serious. Even indoor cats can get fleas, and they may be hard to see, so starting a flea preventative is a good idea. Twitching and excessive grooming can also be caused by urinary disorders or anxiety. The vet can help you determine what is going on and get Sweet Pea on the right track to getting healthy again.

Two things you didn't mention: Was Mikimoto-san tested at all for thyroid issues or other metabolic issues? Sometimes thyroid and other issues can present with changes in weight, eating habits, hair loss and more. A full blood panel if you haven't had one done already can help. The other thing to look for is stress over-grooming. Cats can start obsessively licking as a result of stress, and the behavior can become a habit that continues even after the stressor is removed. Making sure Miki-san has his own place to relax, eat, drink, use litter and more can help reduce stress as well as using pheromone diffusing plug-ins or collars. If the stress has been removed but the licking continues, you may need to break the habit by placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar or T-shirt on him to prevent licking until he doesn't feel the urge to continue.

I would highly recommen taking Chubbs in to your local vet for an examination. He needs to be checked to ensure he doesn't have a UTI first. If he does not, then he is likely soiling the house due to anxiety. The vet can treat for anxiety with medication if that is the cause. The one medication that has the most success for treating things like this, in my opinion, is Fluoxetine, which you can request for Chubbs if indicated. Poor Boda! Overgrooming is usually a symptom of allergic skin disease or emotional stress. He may respond quite well to a veterinary prescription allergy diet like Hills z/d and stop overgrooming completely. Some cats need to be on allergy medication like steroids to help with the symptoms. If stress or emotional issues are the culprit, then Boda might need to be on antidepressants or anti anxiety medication designed for cats like Zylkene or Feliway spray. If you want to try something before taking him to the vet, buy some Feliway cat pheromone spray and allergy diet like z/d and try that for 8-10 weeks, as both may work and save you a trip to the vet! She could have a problem with her anal glands. She could have an infection in her glands or just need them expressed. She really should be checked by a vet, especially since she seems lethargic. Your vet can do an examination to determine the exact cause and then recommend treatment. She might just need an expression and an antibiotic. Without having a diagnosis, it is hard to recommend a treatment.
