Generally, scabs will fall off on their own as they heal. It is difficult to put topical treatment on cats because they are such fastidious groomers and will lick it off. Keep the area clean and dry, and nature should run its course. However if you feel like the wound is worsening or the dermatitis is not improving, have your vet take another look as additional treatments might be needed.
