What caused my cat's cut wound: fight, illness, or accident?

Poor kitty. Lacerations like this need to be surgically repaired. It's the only way to resolve this without risking severe infection to your cat. I would suggest getting a parent involved here who can help you afford Orenji's medical expenses moving forward. Until you can get the help you and Orenji need, I would suggest cleaning this with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water to help keep the risk of infection down. This is an open and infected skin wound. It may be the result of trauma (cat fight) or self inflicted from scratching ( fleas or ear mites). A hands on exam by a veterinarian can help you to determine the cause and also prescribe an antibiotic and assess the wound. Tiger should be examined by a vet. That wound on his leg looks pretty bad, and he probably needs good antibiotics and pain medications. If Tiger goes outdoors, he may be getting into fights with other cats. Cat bites are notoriously nasty and can transmit some bad bacteria that cause infection and abscesses. If these wounds are not from infected cat bites, then I would be concerned about an autoimmune disorder or a severe body-wide infection.

These could indeed be fight and bite wounds. Usually they heal by themselves, however sometimes they turn into abscesses which would need to be addressed. Check for swelling, pain , fluctuation, fever, pussy discharge. If any of this occurs, take Sivko to a veterinarian for an exam.

This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). It may heal on its own, even though it will take few days. Disinfection may be done at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths twice daily. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. If the wound will not heal/or at least improve in 5 days, a check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. With a wound that severe, It would be best to bring him to your vet or an emergency clinic immediately. Any time a cat escapes and is gone for several hours or days, and comes back wounded, vet care is needed. Your vet can clean and treat the wound with medications, stutures, etc, and also check Naru over to rule out any internal injuries or injuries on the body that need care.
