You should put an e-collar on your kitty, as she will likely lick off the neosporin and ingest it. You may gently wash the paw with warm water so all the debris and dirt is off and then, if it is just dry and cracked, you can put vaseline on the spot. If it looks red and angry or infected it may be advisable to take her to a vet for an exam. IF you put neosporine on the wound and it does not get better within two days, you should definitely take Teagan to a vet as there are some nasty autoimmune diseases which can cause lesions on the paws.

You can try making an Epsom salts soak (directions for dilution with warm water are on the package), which will help to cleanse the toes, and hopefully give Maki some protection against infection - but she might not tolerate it well. You can also purchase an e-collar, which will keep her from licking, as this often causes secondary infection. You can show this to your parents - if the skin is truly peeled back, it's likely that Maki is quite painful (imagine how that would feel) and needs veterinary care in order to protect the area, prevent infection, and treat the pain. You might tell them that dealing with this now, rather than later, may be less expensive, as foot injuries can easily get complicated in cats, since they use a litter box, and infection is common.

You can use epsom salt and soak the paws in a solution of water and epsom salt (2 tbsp to 1 gallon roughly) and soak for 15 minutes twice daily. A better balm to use on cracked pads and skin is a product called Bio Balm by Dermoscent. You can get this online easily and it works quite effectively. If the skin around his nails becomes swollen or begins to discharge pus, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the area for further treatment.

If one of Noushmc's paws seem to be wounded, I would recommend she see her veterinarian soon to take a closer look at the paw so it can be evaluated properly. If the underlying tissue is exposed, the paw can become infected and the litter can potentially be problematic if the wound is large enough. You can try using 3% hydrogen peroxide instead of the vinegar and water until you are able to get her seen by her veterinarian. I hope this helps!

I suggest you try this wound spray and keep the foot covered with a sock. If it doesn't heal (which it should easily if it is just a wound) you will need to take her back to the vet. Do Not put peroxude, it will make it worse. silver sulfadiazine cream is the best option, if you can bandage it, it would be best. if you can't find this cream you can use neosporin instead but it is less effective for burns.
