My cat walks like a cowboy, front legs circle. Should I be concerned?

There are a few follow up questions regarding Kiara. Is this new or has she always had this going on? If this is new then it can be trauma related or even a clot. It could be due to a neurologic condition or perhaps an orthopedic condition causing some kind of pain or discomfort. What you are describing makes me wonder if Ivy has a problem with her balance or something else neurological that makes her movements abnormal. I would recommend taking some video of her walking and have your veterinarian evaluate them. If she has always moved that way, then there may not be anything to do about it, but if her movement is getting worse, I would have your veterinarian perform a neurological examination to see if there is anything abnormal. This could even due to weakness from perhaps getting into something he should not have. For this reason, I recommend that you consider taking him to your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Based on the x-rays, I do not see any immediate concerning changes. However, on the right leg where the elbow is, it appears that there may be an increased density (bone sclerosis) of what we call the cortical bone. This may indicate early disease or something is beginning to affect the bone. I would recommend providing adequate rest for her for the next 4 weeks as well as give an anti-inflammatory to reduce any inflammation / pain she may be experiencing. I would recheck the x-rays in 4 weeks to see if there has been any change with the bone. I hope this helps! Your cat may have either a metabolic condition like diabetes, or a developmental growth problem or orthopedic condition. The only way to know for sure is to have him examined, and have bloodwork and X-rays taken. This way you'll know what is going on and if there is any treatment you can provide him to help.
