My cat is constipated on prednisone. Can I safely give him an enema?

i took my 15 year old male cat to a vet and he said it could be Inflammatory bowel disease he gave me prednisone to give to him but he is very constipated been for a week someone told me its ok to give a cat a enema what kind of enema can be used

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Instead of an enema, I would recommend you first try something that is less involved and likely to help which is giving him about 1 teaspoon of canned pumpkin with his meals. This usually helps with constipation in cats. Good luck and have a great day!
