My cat got caught in door, now quiet. Eye changed color. Vet?

Poor guy! It could be a sign of pain or trauma from the event including head or neck trauma, or a side effect of pain medication. If he was bleeding did they find the source of it? Was he given any medications at the clinic (pain medication?) or to take home? Was he appropriate mentally there and then has declined? The problem with kittys getting attacked is that the attacker often shakes them while biting. This can create a lot of shear trauma under the skin that is initially not seen. If no meds have been given i would worry about pain or head trauma. I would recommend calling the clinic that saw him to report this change. The safest thing for these patients is for them to be hospitalized for monitoring because not all problems show up right away. If head trauma is suspected medications may need to be given for this. I would recommend a vet visit. If he was outdoors it's impossible to know what trauma may have occurred, or in an older cat hypertension or cardiovascular event is a potential worry with dilated eyes. To be safe I would recommend getting him to the vet today. In the case of head trauma or even hypertension the sooner treatment is instituted the better the long-term outcome. Trauma to the eye, head, and neck can result in many different problems. I am glad she seems improved today, but I would still highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian. If the eye has an injury early intervention is best. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon.

This sounds like he may have hurt himself, when he banged his face. It could also be that he has high blood pressure and that often makes cats temporarily blind. The faster the blood pressure is treated the more likely your kitty will regain his eyesight. Please take him to a veterinarian preferably right away, as either of these conditions (injury or high blood pressure) are signs of a serious health problem. He is purring because he is worried and afraid, and cats not only purr when they are happy, but also to appease other cats and people ("Please don;t hurt me, I am not going to hurt you).
