Is my cat's leg broken? What are the signs and what to do now?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 months and 12 days old | 9 lbs

I think my cat may have broken his leg. How can I tell. I can't see a vet for 11 hours. Is there anything I can do for him now

Usually abnormal movement into abnormal position, swelling and pain (which your kitty may not show) are tell-tale signs. Keep Mao confined in a box with soft bedding and take him to a vet in the morning for an x-ray and stabilisation of the fracture as well as pain medicine.
