My cat has a black spot with white dots on his paw. What should I do?

If it does not bother Chibi at all, and she is not limping or licking at that foot, I would not be concerned. I hope this is helpful!

Oh goodness, that looks like a deep infection. It could be bacterial or fungal, but I suspect more likely bacterial. He needs to see a veterinarian for an examination and treatment plan. However, in the meantime if he will allow you to soak his foot in warm water and Epsom salts that may be soothing and beneficial. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It certainly could be a benign keratin accumulation on the paw pad, which should not cause discomfort for Zoe. It could also be a focal inflammatory reaction if she stepped on a sharp object. I would monitor it for now, and if you notice any changes to the bump or if it begins to irritate Zoe I would have it evaluated by her veterinarian. It is very rare to see malignant types of masses/growths in young kittens, so I would not suspect this is the case.

This may be due to an infection such as one caused by a fungus though it could be bacterial and it is just not possible to know just based on a description. Usually these infections are not transmitted to humans unless it is ringworm and it does not sound like that so I would not be too concerned about that. However, this can be seen with a number of conditions even cancer being one of the possibilities. I recommend that you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Poor kitty. Unfortunately the photo is too dark to really get a good look at the paw. I do see some crusting there though, which leads me to think this is just an infection and not likely skin cancer. Feel free to repost another photo with a second forum question, with better lighting to verify. If it is just infection, then you can try soaking the paw in Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water or Chlorhexidine solution 3% diluted into a light blue mixture to help clean this antiseptically. Then a vet visit will be needed to get Cream on some antibiotics (oral or injectable). I hope that Cream's foot heals well soon! Best wishes and take are.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Haku. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. His paw looks sore. Did he sustain any trauma? If it is not a wound, then he could have another issue such as an autoimmune skin disease or even an infection such as ringworm. The veterinarian will thoroughly examine him and may recommend skin testing to reach a diagnosis. In the meantime, do not let him licl or chew on the pad. Place an E-collar on him if necessary.
