My cat has a mass in his belly. Could it be Cushing's disease?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Tummy! Possible causes for a lump are: an abscess, a skin mass, or an internal mass in his belly. If Tummy has lost weight or is having any other change either behaviorally or appetite wise I recommend having him evaluated by your Vet. If the mass and in the skin (not the belly), is soft it is likely an abscess or a cyst. Sine this is a new finding I recommend having him seen by your Vet to be safe. I am so sorry for your loss! Without having seen Jack, there is no way I can tell you with 100% certainty what was wrong with him. From JUST looking at these x-rays, it looks like his bladder was blocked (unable to urinate) and there for his bladder got REALLY full and the urine eventually backed up into the kidneys. This likely caused him kidney values to increase and electrolytes to be abnormal. Unfortunately though, I cannot say this for sure and I have no idea if this is what caused him to pass away. I am sorry for your loss and please know you are in my thoughts.

There are many possibilities, Bubby may have an abscess from a bit especially if he is an outdoor cat, it could be a mat of hair if he is a long haired cat or it could be a tumor. I recommend having him looked at tomorrow by your Vet. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that Al has a skin lump that you found. Cats can develop growths that are benign (cysts, fatty deposits) or some that are concerning (skin cancers, abscesses). I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine what kind of mass it is, and whether or not it is potentially a problem for him. Good luck!

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Without pictures it is difficult for me to say for sure what these could be. I would suspect cysts or tumors (benign or malignant). The fact she is unspayed and that she is almost 12 years old has me concerned that these are mammary tumors, which most of the time are cancerous and need to be surgically removed. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Ally and look at these further to help better determine what the course of treatment should entail. I hope this helps! This cannot be completely assessed just by looking at pictures and usually requires sampling such as fine needle aspiration to determine its origin. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Cody is super cute! I have never diagnosed Cushing's in a cat. It is exceedingly rare in cats. The most common causes for increased thirst/urination in older cats are: diabetes, kidney failure, hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), cancer, liver disease and cancer. I recommend taking Cody to the Vet for full blood work (includes T4 and urine), it will rule out almost all of the above. I hope this helps and I wish you and Cody the best!
