Why is my cat balding on its front leg in a straight line?

This bald patch on Moo Moo could be caused by trauma, or her pulling the hair out of that area due to itchiness. Itching in cats could be due to fleas, mites, allergies, or ringworm. I would keep an eye on the spot for now. If the hair doesn't grow back, or the spot gets bigger, then I would take Moo Moo into the vet for an exam to rule to one of the causes of itchiness I mentioned above.

It sure sounds like Micole is itchy! Problems such as skin infections, ringworm, mites, And allergies can all cause these symptoms. From the photos, it looks like the skin has some red lesions. Hair loss can indicate many things including over grooming, ringworm (which humans can get), scabies (which can also effect humans) or other skin mites, hyperthyroidism or allergies (fleas, food or environmental). Unfortunately, all these lesions look similar. A physical exam and some basic diagnostics are needed to determine the underlying cause. Over grooming is more difficult to determine and is generally determined based upon ruling out other causes, a physical exam and a thorough medical history. I think your best option is to have Puds examined by the veterinarian. At home you can try giving him an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets but it may not correct the underlying cause. This can however improve over all skin health. There are two brands of food, Royal Canin and Nutro, which are aimed at skin health and they may help as well but again, they may not affect the underlying problem. Miakat is probably suffering from a skin condition that is causing this, it could be an allergy, parasites (mites or fleas), a fungal infection or even an hormonal problem. you should take her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated.

Poor Almond! I'm glad to hear that she is acting normally despite her skin lesion. Common causes of areas of hair loss include allergies (to fleas, food or the environment), ringworm or mange. While this is not an emergent condition, a vet should examine Almond and may need to perform skin scrapes or cytologies to determine the cause of her skin lesion so that it can be managed appropriately.

I'm wondering if he snagged some fur on the enclosure causing the fur loss. He may have gotten excited seeing the squirrels and moved suddenly, causing some fur to snag and pull out.
