Cat attacked by dog, throwing up blood & diarrhea. Emergency?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 18 days old

My cat was just attacked by my large dog. He threw up some blood and has diarrhea. My mother believes that maybe in all the chaos he scratched the dog and swallowed some of his blood. There's no visible injuries on the cat. Haven't gotten a good look at the dog yet for any way the cat could've swallowed blood. Please help

If Ember is throwing up blood, it's a medical emergency. It's not likely he swallowed blood. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
