My cat ate weed killer, now vomiting & drooling. What should I do?

Hello. Depending on how long the exposure was, all we can do is treat the symptoms until healing occurs. Was a good work-up done on Luna prior to her dental procedure? If not, she needs a complete blood count, serum chemistry, urinalysis & she needs to be checked for retroviruses. If nothing significant is found, an abdominal ultrasound may indicate if there is some problem in her digestive tract. Subcutaneous fluids, appetite stimulants, anti-nausea medications, possibly antibiotics are all possible treatments many of which can be managed at home. A temporary feeding tube can also be placed until she begins eating again. You may never definitively know if this was glyphosate that made Luna sick, but with good care, she may recover just fine. Please, take him to your local vets today, as it sounds that he is struggling a lot. There are no remedies that you can give him at home, so the sooner you take him to your local vets the better for your cat.

Hello, it really depends on what poison or toxin your cat got into. There are specific therapies for these. If it is recent ingestion of a toxin or poison, you may have your veterinarian induce vomiting to prevent the side effects of this toxin. I would recommend finding immediate emergency care for your cat and informing them what specific poison or ingestion of toxin you think your cat got into so that they can better help you. This is an emergency. Brown puke is a sign of possible bleeding in the stomach (the acid in the stomach makes blood turn brown). Your cat could have an ulcer, or an intoxication or another gastrointestinal problem. Please take Honey to a veterinarian today.

Yes, I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. The mint may have really irritated her stomach lining. Vomiting, diarrhea, increased salivation, tremors, seizures, twitching are the most common signs if an animal eats a pesticide. Most pesticides sprayed on the lawn are not the cause of most cases of vomiting and diarrhea though they tend to always get blamed. If Bella drank from the bottle or ate a lot of the plant with the chemical then the her signs could be from the weed killer. I am glad she is better and if she is eating, drinking and acting fine hopefully all is good now! I hope this helps!
