My cat ate soap foam from the sink. Is hand soap poisonous to cats?

This should not lead to any severe intoxication or noticeable side effect. Possibly an episode or vomiting or diarrhoea may occur but they should be all self limiting and resolving. I would recommend to monitor her for the next 12hours but no further actions are needed at this stage.

There is a chance of toxicity with ingesting dish soap. Dish soap is listed as a non-ionic detergent, and you will see vomiting and diarrhea if she digests it. I recommend trying to get her to wash the rest off, and the monitor her. If she does starting vomiting and having diarrhea, you need to take her to your vet right away. Your vet will have to administer treatment, as inducing vomiting is not recommended because it will do more harm than good. Next time you wash your cat, I'd recommend a pet shampoo to do it.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for your kitty! Ingesting a small amount of shampoo (provided it isnt' a medicated kind) would not be likely to cause any poisoning/toxicity in your kitty, but could cause some stomach upset. I would just recommend monitoring her appetite and energy level and watching for vomiting. If you notice changes in these then a visit to your vet is recommended.

I'm so sorry that Simba is not going well. You didn't mention how long ago he might have ingested the soap. We will see mostly GI signs (vomiting and diarrhea) with most soap ingestions, but some soaps have ingredients that cause damage to the lining of the GI tract and can require much more intensive treatment. Hello. Cats are very curious, but very careful when tasting new things. It is very unlikely that she got more that a small lick begore deciding this was pretty nasty stuff. Essential oils can be toxic to cats, the problem occurs when people mistakenly apply them to a pet, & then a cat is almost forced to lick her coat. However, if he continues vomiting, or his symptoms worsen (lethargy, refusal to eat, pale gums/tongue) then bringing him into your local vet or ER clinic may be best.
