My cat ate chicken bones days ago. Should I still be worried?

This will of course take 24-48 hours to be determined. You can monitor her closely for clinical symptoms that could indicate an obstruction such as nausea (lip smacking, decreased appetite and/or drooling), vomiting, inappetence, lethargy and/or abdominal pain. If you see any of those clinical symptoms, have her evaluated by a veterinarian right away. Otherwise, if she is acting normal, it is ok to continue to monitor her for now. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! In general, if there hasn’t been a problem for 48 hours, you’re in the clear. Continue feeding Indy as usual. If there is some diarrhea but Indy is still eating and playing and active, im still not terribly concerned. But if vomiting starts or you’re seeing lethargy or loss of appetite, it’s time to head in to the vet as soon as possible. Hope this helps and best of luck to you and Indy!

Instead, you should monitor Riku at home for the next 24-48hrs for symptoms of vomiting, lack of appetite, lethargy difficulties to defecate. If you see any of them, you should take him to your local vets for an appointment as these symptoms would suggest gastrointestinal obstruction. However, most likely the little bones will be digested rapidly in the stomach and Riku will not show any worrying symptoms at all.

Hello. If Pie seems to be fine, then I would not worry. Most times the bone will be easily digested & pass on through. If he should develop any vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hard bloated abdomen, or loss of appetite, please have him seen by your veterinarian. Hello, unless he chokes on these bones he is not going to die immediately. Fortunately, chicken bones are digested readily due to their hollow make up. However, there is a chance that they may become entrapped in the small intestines and may cause damage to these. Over the next day monitor her for any vomiting, belly pain, or diarrhea. If you note any of these then you should have her evaluated immediately by a veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Bones usually are digested in the stomach but they may form gastro-intestinal obstruction or cause constipation. If Dolbie starts to vomit, strain to pass faeces, is passing stools with blood or not passing any stools at all for longer than 24hrs, you will have to take him to your local vets right away. If after 48hrs he does not develop any symptoms, it will mean that he is out of danger.
