If he is attacking you and not trying to play then he should be confined, you should always keep him up to date on Rabies, and you should discuss behavior modification drugs with your Vet, like prozac. I would get it in a liquid form you can put in his food. I would purchase feliway diffusers for around the house, one should go in his room. You can play with him but as soon as he gets over stimulated you need to stop and walk away. If he starts to get aggressive and is coming towards you squirt him with a water bottle. It is inappropriate behavior for a cat to attack you and injury you that badly. You need to strongly consider if this is the kind of relationship you want from a pet. That could be why your belly rubs make him defend himself and bite your hand. Aggression due to medical causes can be related to pain, neurological disorders, anxiety, or medications. A trip to the vet will rule out medical causes for aggression. Once a behavioral diagnosis of aggression has been made, sometimes simple techniques will improve or stop the behavior. In other situations it may be only the first step in treatment. In addition to designing a treatment plan, your veterinarian can help you with your conditioning goals and assist in realistic expectations of your pet. Sudden aggression and behavioral changes in cats can indicate pain or illness, so if you haven't already, a veterinary check up is best. If your cat checks out healthy, it may be there is a lot of stress causing your cat's behavioral issues. Making sure she has her own access to food, water, toys, treats, hiding spots etc from other pets or people is best. She is also still very young, and may just have a lot of energy/is still learning what appropriate behavior is. Ignoring bad behavior, increasing play and activity times, and rewarding calm, quiet behavior is best to teach her the right way to interact and to get out that excess energy.
