Are adopted pets spayed/neutered and dewormed before going home?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 month and 17 days old | 2 lbs

Will your rescues be neutered/spayed before they come home with me? Also, have they been wormed twice? Thank you very much!

I'm not sure who you are asking this question to, as we don't provide adoption services through Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! However, if you know the location of the rescue or store you are trying to ask this of, it would be best to call them and ask directly. In most cases, any pet out for adoption is usually spayed/neutered prior.
