Why does my senior lovebird throw up clear foam every spring?

Thanks for including the picture of Kiwi. It seems like Kiwi is regurgitating. Parrots can regurgitated for multiple reasons: food sharing, stress, eating something noxious, ingestion of something toxic or due to infectious or metabolic illness (kidney, liver, etc.). With food sharing, they rarely shake their head and spray it everywhere. One of the other more common causes is eating items with lead or zinc, two soft metals, that affect the vomit center to cause the regurgitation. You'll have to investigate the environment and search for anything Kiwi might be chewing on. If you think that is the case, a visit to the veterinarian should provide a means of confirmation (radiographs) and then the treatment has a fairly good prognosis as long as it is caught fairly early. Providing heat support for an environment around 85-90 degrees will help to stimulate his immune system. But if he continues to regurgitate or become lethargic or anorectic, you need to visit your local avian veterinarian.

Birds can sometimes regurgitate as a sign of affection/interest in trying to mate with you, so this could be that Bella is very comfortable and bonded with you. If she is otherwise healthy, I wouldn't be too concerned, but you may want to try to discourage the behavior by changing your interactions some if she seems too attached. If you suspect she may be ill instead, a vet visit is best.

Regurgitation can be caused by inhaled or ingested toxins (plants, paint, zinc, lead, etc.), metabolic problems (liver or kidney disease), infectious agents, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, just to name a few. It could be a one time thing, in that case there is no need to worry about it, but if he continues vomiting then he is probably suffering from a gastrointestinal condition and will need to be seen by an avian vet ASAP.

This may be mating or sexual behavior. The whole seed indicates regurgitation instead of vomiting. The rubbing of the perch is likely mounting behavior. It should pass. You can provide different toys or rearrange the cage to distract him, but there is no cause for concern as long as he is behaving normally otherwise.

It can be normal for a bird to regurgitate food food or liquid from time to time so I would not be too overly concerned. If the regurgitation continues or Sunny stops wanting to eat and/or his stools are abnormal you may want to have him checked out.
