Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered

My parakeet had been paralyzed with one leg . So we consulted a vet who gave us vitamin drops to feed it . But now after a few days it's both legs are paralyzed . It is 14 yrs old . It eats well though but does not speak .

Thanks for reaching out about Bhola. Weak or paralyzed legs in older parakeets are often associated with renal or gonadal masses that impinge on the nerves that supply the legs. Potent anti-inflammatories might help shrink the masses but probably will not cure. Quality of life should be considered.
Good luck.
