My parakeet has a bleeding eye injury and it's closed. Is it serious?

Ideally, she should be examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating birds. If she is in with other birds, remove them to a different cage in case the injury was due to aggression. Check the cage for anything on which she could have injured herself. Monitor for lethargy, loose droppings or loss of appetite. These are symptoms that need to be addressed by a veterinarian.

It sounds like Emperya is badly injured. Without examining him and knowing what injuries have happened, it would be impossible to tell if he would make it. Many vets are still open for emergency situations, so it is best to contact your vet or an emergency clinic ASAP to get him in for care.

Based on the pictures you provided it does appear that there is some hemorrhage under the skin of the eye. This is most likely related to trauma (ie hitting the eye/face on something). Keep an eye on it for now. If your bird is otherwise acting normal then I would not worry about it too much. If however the redness spreads or your bird seems painful you should probably take him in to be checked out by your veterinarian. I hope this helps. Monitor for appetite and actual ingestion of food as they will often play with the food and not eat. Easiest to monitor fecal production. It is good that you separated the bird being picked on. If he is actively bleeding, injured, or the sites of his wounds appear to be infected, then it is best to bring him to a vet and have him treated with antibiotics as needed. Until you can get to the vet, keeping him separate, cleaning any wounds of any debris or oozing, and preventing him from picking at the wounds can help some.

Rio appears to have an injury to the eyelid, which may explain why he is not opening his eye. This can result in swelling and discharge, which may be the liquid you are seeing from the eye. I am unable to see the eyeball itself, so I am unable to determine whether that is injured or not. I would recommend that you take him to see a veterinarian - your vet can look at the eyelids to determine if there is an injury there, and then can look at the eye itself to ensure that it hasn't been damaged in any way. They may prescribe antibiotics to control or prevent any infection, and pain-relieving anti-inflammatory medications. Please do not give Rio any human medications as they can be harmful to our feathered friends.
