My 8-month-old cockatiel won't hold food with his leg. Is it normal?

My cockatiel doesn't hold his food in leg. Is it normal or do I need to train him? He is 8 months old now.

This is no cause for concern. Some birds do it, others don't. If he is having difficulty perching, grasping or walking, then that IS a cause for concern requiring an exam with your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian.
