My canary's poop is orange. Is it the apple or a health concern?

In some cases, adding in too many fruits or veggies, or even different colored pellets within your bird's diet can also change the color of the stool, so if your bird is acting normal except for the stool change, stopping all treats and extras beyond regular food, checking for any pellets in the food that may be a similar color, and seeing if it clears up may help. If your bird is ill in addition to the color change, such as acting listless, not eating or drinking, losing weight, etc, it would be best to have him seen by a vet, so it is a good idea to try and explain this to your parents. If your bird is ill, it is very cruel of them to not provide him with appropriate medical care, or to at least seek a humane euthanasia if he is suffering and they do not wish to treat the issue.

Depending on what she was being fed before, a sudden change to new food and a new house may cause a bit of stress and a change in stool. Making sure she is on a balanced diet and is kept in a calm, stress-free area for a few days while she adjusts may help. if she doesn't return to normal behavior, the stool continues to be discolored, or you see other signs of illness such as listless behavior, not eating or drinking, excessive scratching or feather loss, etc, then having a vet take a look is always best.

Eliminate fruit in the diet for the time being to see if the stool returns to normal. Bacterial enteritis, ingested foreign bodies or other diseases can irritate the bowels resulting in mucoid stool. Without much other info it would be hard to say what is going on. Some organ issues, parasites, and infections can cause whiter stool or urea changes, while feeding too many snacks/changes in diet can change it as well. If this has been ongoing for a while, I would have the affected bird checked out by your vet to rule out any serious health issues.
