Why is my bird sneezing, shivering, and clicking after antibiotics?

Based on the condition of the environment that you are describing and the sneezing and nasal discharge your bird is having, I would be concerned about an upper respiratory tract infection. They may want to see Biba an additional time to repeat their examination and evaluate if the lungs sound better, or if the discharge has improved. If it hasn't, they may decide to switch antibiotics. At home, I would ensure that Biba is kept warm, as birds' body temperatures are higher than ours. Also make sure her environment is humid, if she will tolerate it. You can do this with a humidifier, or by taking her into the bathroom when you take a shower. This can help to break up any discharge and material that may be present in her nose, airways, and lungs. Not all antibiotics work on all bacteria. Were any cultures performed? Short 10-15 minute bouts in the steamy bathroom might relieve some congestion. Diet should be reviewed to provide adequate vitamin A. Ensure that Sunny is away from the kitchen, especially when cooking or other aerosols or aromatic sources. If the sneezing does not clear, diagnostic tests should be performed to determine a cause. Good luck.

If she seems paralysed I would call your vet. Hopefully it is just temporary but the dosages of medication in birds are very sensitive so maybe she got too much, or possibly she was hurt when you restrained her to give her the meds?

I recommend finding an avian veterinarian for Bubi. This could be bacterial, fungal or viral infection. Or could be some form of organ dysfunction. Aav.org may help find an avian vet in your area.

The stress of the move might have lead to immune suppression and progression of clinical signs. Short periods of time in a warm, steamy bathroom, a few times daily might help hydrate the sinuses but a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Since this has been occurring for several months, it is unlikely to improve or heal on its own. Other possibilities include fungal infections, nasal foreign bodies, metabolic disorders and more.
