Baby parrot mouth breathing, amoxicillin not helping. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | unneutered

My baby parrot is otherwise eating properly but out times is breathing with its mouth open. I on recommendation of a local vet have given him 3 doses of amoxicillin but still no improvement. Please help

Thanks for reaching out about Poco. Even though Amoxicillin is a good antibiotic, it doesn't treat everything and often does not treat many of the bacterial that cause respiratory concerns in birds. Not all respiratory problems are caused by bacteria, fungi and viral are also possibilities. If problems continue, consider doing some diagnostics testing.
