What vaccines does my pot-bellied pig need to stay healthy and safe?

Guinea pigs don’t need any vaccinations but it’s a good idea to take them to see your vet for yearly check ups, to monitor weight, teeth, claws, skin, feeding routines etc. Also find details of a good exotic vet where you could take them for any particular condition that your vet might not be able to treat or advise you on. In general Guinea pigs have only a few health issues if compared to other animal species. Hope this helps !

Yes, I would take Penelope to the vet. Coughing in pigs can be caused by a respiratory infection, internal parasites like Ascaris suum, or an airway irritant. It would be good to have the cause of her cough diagnosed so she can be treated. I recommend taking her to the vet tomorrow.

You should only give your pigs antibiotics for a medical reason diagnosed by a vet. Then the length and frequency of dosing will be determined by the severity and type of condition. Usually it involves a daily injection for 5 days up to 2 weeks. Unfortunately I cannot legally give you specific information about prescription drugs, but your vet will be able to advise you. There are various antibiotics and antinflammatories of use in swine.

IT looks like Blossom is a micro mini pot belly pig. I would recommend continue to monitor the cough as long as he is eating, drinking and using the restroom normally . However if blossom is not eating or starts to act lethargic I would recommend taking her to a vet to make sure she does not have an upper respiratory infection that needs addressed. Pigs grow at different rates, so it is very difficult to say your pig should weigh X pounds at X age. Adult pot bellied pigs can reach 200lbs. You can feed her a commercial pig chow. It should be a maintenance formula not a pig starter. Common brands include Mazuri, Manna Pro and Heartland. Penelope can eat 1.5-2 cups of chow daily. Divide into two feedings. Additionally, fresh vegetables should make up about 25℅ of her diet.

That may be a local reaction which is likely to disappear in the next few weeks. If not a check up would be required as a localized spot of infection is possible (so it could be an abscess or a granuloma).
