While Halloween may be fun for us, it can be stressful for pets. Before the trick-or-treaters start ringing the doorbell, be sure that your pet is safely confined in a crate or room so that they don’t escape amidst the chaos. Keep any candy or treats out of reach of pets. Chocolate is toxic to pets, and many other treats or candies can lead to gastrointestinal upset or pancreatitis. If your pet becomes excessively anxious when the doorbell rings repeatedly, discuss solutions with your veterinarian.

How to create a budget-friendly cat room setup for cats and a dog?

Hi, in terms of cat furniture don’t worry cats don’t need anything particularly fancy. They enjoy sitting on a shelf as in the picture and look outside the window. You would add some cardboard boxes that can also work as cratching posts and a couple of pillow on the bookshelf. I think the feeding area would better be moved, because being right in front of the windows is exposed, they can see/be seen and could spot something that might upset them. It is also advisable to keep feeding areas away from their litter tray and perhaps moving it would help increasing this distance. Are there only two cats in the room ? If so also consider the number of litter trays. I mo not sure how many you have at present, and if things work out well I probably would suggest not to change them. My dog and cat share a crate. Should they sleep in new beds?

If the sleeping arrangements work well right now then I would probably stay with what works. If you decide to switch, and it doesn’t work out well you can always go Back to a crate at night, but it will probably take several night of retraining. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I recommend that you try a product called Feliway which can help cats deal with any stress inducing situations like the one you describe. You can buy this as a spray for example at your local pet store or online. If she does not improve, the other thing that should be considered is if there is a medical reason for all of this which is certainly possible. If her behavior does not improve, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. She is adorable! Good luck!
