The key to doing treats while a dog is on an elimination diet is to use treats that have the same ingredients as the food you are trying. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is to use canned food of the variety and flavor that you are using to put in a Kong or bake into treats. Other options would be to use sweet potato chews if the food you are feeding has sweet potatoes in it (which Zignature kangaroo does not) or giving dehydrated chews that are the same meat source that you are feeding (which will be a challenge for a kangaroo food). So, for the food you are feeding right now, the best option may be to use canned Zignature kangaroo to create treats for Lucy. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Easy snacks include raw carrots or green beans. You can also dehydrate boneless chicken breasts to use as treats and rewards. Most of the premium diets offer treats in their product lines. These brands include Royal Canin, Canidae, Acana or Orijen.

Many dogs can be trained to run on a tread mill! This is commonly used for dogs who live in cold climates or have owners who are not able to tolerate cold weather. A trainer or behaviorist can help in the training but many people figure it out at home often with the help of guide books and videos. If Nyssa likes to play tug of war, purchase a tug toy and set aside 20 minutes a day to play with her. This is a good, dry/warm indoor activity! Many dogs don't mind playing ball in the snow or snow shoeing even! As long as conditions are safe and not icy, a good walk/jog or bike ride can be accomplished even in cold weather. Some people even ski with their dogs! If there is snow or rough terrain, she may need protection for her paws. Many cities now offer pools for dog swimming which can certainly tire them out. If Nyssa is good with other dogs and likes to play, doggie day care offers an indoor/dry option for her. Additionally, if you work long hours, websites such as Rover.com offer dog walking services so Nyssa can be taken out while you work. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

Most dogs don't dislike all treats, so it may just be that you haven't found one that she likes. You can look into more natural treats or ones that have a distint flavor that is more appealing to her. You can start here with your search--> https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dog+treats&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 Also, look at the ingredients (chicken, beed, turkey) in her dog food and use that same profile when selecting treats. You can also just use her normal dog kibble and give this to her in treat form. I do hope that this helps you find something that Zuzia likes. Best wisehs with her training moving forward!

Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Yes, there are some good low calorie treats called "Tricky Trainers"which are only 3kcal/treat. They taste very good and smell good too! My dogs at home go bonkers for them. I hope this helps and best of luck!
