As long as the bark pieces are large enough, the chosen substrate should be fine. Small bark pieces could be accidentally ingested though, so care must be taken when feeding. Other options include reptile carpet or a moss/soil mix.

SO i am thinking about getting a leopard gecko, but i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cage so i am using a plastic laundrey hamper that seems about maybe 10 gallons and i am setting up little hiddy spots and stuff but i dont know wh
A 10 gallon tank can be purchased in the local Petco for less than twenty dollars ( https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/fish/fish-aquariums-kits/aquariums-up-to-ten-gallons/aqueon-standard-glass-aquarium-tank-10-gallon ). It would be easier to keep and secure than a laundry hamper. Given the temps required for geckos, plastic may not be the best option either. You will need a a heat lamp for day use and maybe a heat source if nighttime temperatures drop below 70 F. You can use slate, reptile carpet, plain paper towels or a coconut fiber substrate. Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
Although some expert may disagree, as long as Ash isn't ingesting the calcium sand then you can continue to use it. Calcium sand is not the same as play sand which would not be recommended. If you don't want to use calcium sand, consider slate, reptile carpet or even paper towels for easy cleaning.

My bearded dragon ate a couple substrate pellets accidentally as he was trying to eat food. Only the next day did I notice around his lips look white/gray. Is this a side effect? Are the pellets safe to eat?
One or two pellets will likely pass through uneventfully. Monitor for lethargy, loose droppings or loss of appetite. You can soak him in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte. During the soak, gently massage his abdomen from front to back to stimulate defecation. Consider using slate, reptile carpeting or plain paper towels as a substrate in the future to prevent accidental ingestion.

The addition of an under-tank heater can change the temperature of an enclosure significantly. To determine what the temperatures are within Ladon's enclosure, I would recommend utilizing digital thermometers. These should be located on both the warm and cool end of the enclosure, and should be located at Ladon's level (not higher or lower than him). With that information, you can tell if the temperatures are now too hot or not. I would also recommend that you have hides present on both the cool end and on the warm end - this will provide Ladon with choices within his enclosure as well. With the water bowl, this may also be related to his enclosure temperature. I would recommend monitoring for any changes once you have determined if the temperatures are appropriate for his species.
