If he cannot see, you will have to have him examined by a reptile veterinarian. He may have a serious vitamin or mineral deficiency. He may have to be force fed. Please schedule an appointment with a reptile or exotic animal veterinarian.

Water from swimming is indeed a possibility. The concern would be Shaka is developing or has developed a respiratory infection. Lethargy, decreased (or no) appetite and difficulty breathing are also symptoms. To be safe, consider an exam with an experienced herp veterinarian. In the early stages, a respiratory infection can be easily treated with antibiotics.

Yes he is housed alone and there is no high traffic in the area and the temperature is at the right temp, so what else could be the problem.
Stress or illness are likely responsible. Placing dark colored paper around the lower 10-12 inches of the glass might decrease stress. If this doesn't seem to help, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.

Check the water temperature and ambient temperature. Low temps can affect appetite and activity in reptiles. Keep the water between 24 C and 30 C. A basking spot out of the water should be 29 C to 31 C. UVB lighting should also be provided. Maintain water quality to prevent infections and feed an appropriate diet with vitamin and mineral supplementation. A vitamin A deficiency can cause swelling of the eyes. Repti-Turtle Eye Drops (by Zoo Med) can be used to help the eyes. Find it online or in the local pet store. Soak the little guy in a 50/50 mix of warm water and an electrolyte replacement beverage to maintain hydration. You can read more about care here: http://www.anapsid.org/reslider.html

Hi I just recently tiled my bearded tank using gorilla silicone adhesive. But I recently read that was bad. Would you recommend a better silicone?
A silicone adhesive/sealant specifically for aquaria would be best. These are strong, durable and fish/reptile safe. You can find it in most home improvement stores. GE SCS1200 silicone is also reptile safe once cured/dried. It can also be found in home improvement stores and hardware stores.
