If you are using a sipper bottle to provide water to Toffee, I would not recommend putting produce items into it (i.e. infused water). Often our exotic companion mammals are very picky about how their water tastes, and this may result in an aversion to her water bottle. If you are offering her water in a bowl, she will likely drag bedding (and potentially feces) into the bowl and contaminate it. This would also be suboptimal. If you are interested in feeding produce to Toffee, I would recommend focusing on vegetables such as bell peppers, green beans, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I would not recommend feeding fruit, as it can upset their gastrointestinal tract. I hope that answers your questions, and thank you for using Boop by Petco!

Thanks for reaching out about Zazu and including a photo. During brumation, they should be left alone, as stimulation will increase metabolism. As they are semi-conscious, a soak is not recommended as they will likely not be able to swallow, and this could also warm them and increase metabolism. Good luck.

Check the water and ambient temperature. Low temps can affect appetite in reptiles. Mae sure the water is not too deep, no deeper than twice his shell length, and keep it clean via filtration or regular water changes. Offer a commercial pellet or stick diet supplemented with dark, leafy greens and some protein (crickets, feeder fish, earthworms). A UVB light source is also critical for shell health as is regular vitamin and mineral supplementation. You can read more about slider care here: http://www.anapsid.org/reslider.html

You can leave a shallow bowl of water in her enclosure. Eventually, she will figure it out. To get her to eat greens and vegetables, offer them about an hour or two after the heat and lights come on in the morning. You can sprinkle freeze dried prey on it to stimulate her appetite. Once she eats some greens, offer prey. There are also several commercial beardie diets you can use to introduce her to non-prey foods. To prevent egg binding, monitor her for egg development, then provide an adequate lay box for her to deposit eggs. She may lay eggs even in the absence of a male and without mating.

He can stay in his bowl, but be sure it has clean water in it as they often defecate while soaking. You should also provide a hide or shelter for him as well. Do not leave his cage in direct sunlight as this could result in temps that are too high and possibly dangerous.
