My bearded dragon needs heat & food, no store. What can I use at home?
Hi, For heat you could do a number of things e.g. place any incandenscent bulb above him, place other types of heaters near the tank etc. Please make sure that the temperature is not too high. As for food, this is more of a problem. If he's used to eating crickets it would be difficult to switch him at once to something else. I assume meal worms or otjer insects are also unavailable? You could very temporarily try some soft cat food but it may not work.

Are heat pads safe for bearded dragons and how should I use them?
Under a surface heat pads are good for helping them thermoregulate. There is only a risk of being burnt if directly exposed to the heat source (i.e. hot rocks). It's important that the heat pad is only under a portion of the enclosure not to exceed 50% of the surface. You always want a cool side of the enclosure and a warm side, so Loki go where is best for him. Make sure the heat pad is not too hot (if it's too hot for your skin, then it's too hot for him). I've found they do well when the heat pad is on a medium, or mild setting depending on the ambient temperature and eclosure. It may take a little experimenting to see what temperature seems best for him. I hope that helps and all is well with Loki.

My bearded dragon has runny stool, is lethargic, and acting strange.
Hi Katie. Any abnormalities you are seeing with Zillo should be checked out by your vet. I don't see anything outwardly abnormal based on those photos. Most health issues that we see in reptiles is due to improper husbandry (diet, lighting, housing, etc) so I suggest you check and make sure you are doing everything 100% correct. Here is a good reference for you to read about Beaded Dragon husbandry. I also suggest you get him an exam with a reputable reptile vet - he could have intestinal parasites causing that are causing his problems. Thanks for reaching out about Zeplyn and including photos. The understanding is Petco will buy back with you being able to re-purchase. Check with them. Anorexia is often causes by intestinal parasites or infections, so a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and a diagnostic/treatment plan. Check and correct husbandry including temperature and gradient, UVB exposure, and diet. Good luck.
