Hello. I do not know what might be available in Canada, but I highly recommend looking at this website for the Veterinary Oral Health Council. Click on the Accepted Products link at the top, then on accepted products for cats. It will list everything that is truly tested to provide results. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. https://www.vohc.org

Toys should be big enough to where she cannot swallow them. You can throw crumpled paper balls for her (cats love them, play with them and carry them around), get a few feathers, tie them together with a string and let her run after that. Get a laser pointer...she might like to hunt the dot. There are also plastic balls with a hole to be filled with some dry kibble, and she has to move it around for food to fall out one by one. My cats also like to play with small stuffed animals. That should give you a few ideas. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. Please take the time to mark this question as helpful or not as it helps us to improve on the quality of our answers to other pet owners. Thank you!

It sounds like he has found a fun game to play with you and that is his new favorite playtime activity! While this may be frustrating for you, its possible he may just really like that particular play behavior. You could try some fixed hanging toys, such as this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/cat/cat-toys/cat-teasers-and-wands/petpals-group-zippy-m-grey-springy-teasing-balls-toy https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/cat/cat-toys/cat-teasers-and-wands/petpals-group-vortex-m-grey-ring-teasing-balls-toy https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/cat/cat-toys/cat-scratcher-toys/you-and-me-sisal-cat-scratch-post As for why he is acting that way and not letting go, I suspect it is truly just that he thinks its a very stimulating, fun thing to do. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. If you are looking for ways to enrich your cat, you can purchase things like a cat tree for it to climb on, or toys for it to play with. Cats tend to enjoy Temptations cat treats, though they are high calorie and should only be given in moderation. I hope this is helpful!

Yes, most pet stores have a small animal section with a variety of toys. Look for chew toys with safe woods such as willow, apple, birch, spruce and aspen. Soft toys and exercise wheels are also good options.
