How can I safely dye my dog's fur for a St. Patrick's Day parade?
Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern! There are safe ways to dye a dog's hair such as food coloring or even natural dyes from foods such as beets that are safe, non-toxic ways to add color to Molly's hair. Some argue that changing the color of a dog's fur could cause undue stress as they are not used to seeing the color on themselves and others state that it could cause allergic reactions. Any of those arguments could hold true so whether you dye Molly's hair is up to you. I would just recommend using natural products or even use chalk (can find at pet stores) to add color to the fur. A more safe way you could take would be to find a sweater or shirt that is the color of what you would like. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. You can search online for an updated edition of the book in question. Sites such as Amazon ( www.amazon.com ) or the AKC Shop ( https://shop.akc.org ) may have it or a similar publication. Parvo recovery: Is soft, inconsistent stool normal for my dog?
Parvo causes extreme damage to the GI tract. It can take several weeks for it to repair and heal and start being able to absorb all the water needed to make firmer stools. As long as it isn't regressing into watery diarrhea, I wouldn't be concerned. Adding in probiotics may help recovery a little.

My dog has a mysterious dark green stain after boarding. What is it?
Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is a bit of a mystery but maybe it was from humping something- Just based on locations of the staining. What about a new bed or towel or toy at the facility? Some new fake grass he rubbed on? I don’t see this being a grass stain, it seems too dark. Very weird. Perhaps ask to tour the facility and look around? As far as Leroy’s safety, I suppose it could have been some something toxic but probably not. I’d recommend washing thoroughly with a dog shampoo and watching for any signs of toxicity or irritation (itching, vomiting, tremors, seizures, lethargy). Best of luck to you and Leroy!
