Any safety tips to prepare for Halloween?
While Halloween may be fun for us, it can be stressful for pets. Before the trick-or-treaters start ringing the doorbell, be sure that your pet is safely confined in a crate or room so that they don’t escape amidst the chaos. Keep any candy or treats out of reach of pets. Chocolate is toxic to pets, and many other treats or candies can lead to gastrointestinal upset or pancreatitis. If your pet becomes excessively anxious when the doorbell rings repeatedly, discuss solutions with your veterinarian.

In my opinion, Wellness is not as good a food as Hill's Science Diet and I agree with the recommendation of your vet's office to keep your dog and cat on Hill's. Hill's has better ingredients and is overall a better quality food. In addition, the truth is that grain free food is really a fad. Only about 5% of dogs have food allergies, and of these dogs, the major of the food allergies are protein. Grain allergies are actually extremely rare, and I only recommend feeding a pet a grain free food if they have a diagnosed grain allergy. I personally recommend keeping your pets on Hill's. If you are feeding a high quality, well balanced diet and your dog has no underlying health conditions, additional supplements are unlikely to be required. If you have any concerns, a full check up should be performed to identify the underlying conditions and advise on any supplements which can help. If your dog is a picky eater or on a mixed diet then certain supplements can help to replace nutrients which she is not consuming and the advice of a nutritionist to balance the diet should be considered

As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in dogs. In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend. I would not do it, I would keep Waldo in his own room alone for Thanksgiving. Hello. Will giving my dog dehydrated meat and pumpkin treats (as no more than 10% of her diet) unbalance her diet? Or is it best to stick to the royal canin specific treats? (Same brand as her kibble) thank you!
Hello, and thanks for your question. As long as Chloe tolerates the treats and they don't cause any GI upset, dehydrated meat and pumpkin treats are good options - just make sure she's still getting the majority of her calories from a complete and balanced food such as royal canin. Hope this helps!
