I understand how frustrating it can be to get a dog comfortable in a kennel. There are a number of reasons that it is beneficial to get a dog comfortable being in a kennel, so I do think it is worth continuing to try. If Jasper needs to be kept quiet after surgery or for any other reason, we certainly want him to be comfortable in the kennel. For now, you might consider feeding him his meals in the kennel (without closing him in it). The goal would be for him to run into the kennel excited for food and associate it only with feeding. I am attaching a handout below that may have more ideas for you. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=1129 However I also don't think it's necessarily a problem for Jasper to sleep in your bed as long as you are comfortable with that. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There are medications for anxiety that can work in these cases that can be used on an as needed basis such as Trazodone. This is something her veterinarian could prescribe. Good luck and have a good night!

You can put four screws with eyeholes in the box . . . one in each corner. Then get some yards of felt and cut them the size of the box floor. Sew little elastic loops at each corner, and put your newspapers down in the box. Cover them with a piece of felt, which you secure to the screw in each corner by looping the elastic over the eyehole. I usually do this once the bitch is done nursing the puppies. If you want a fluffier base, buy some thick (fake) sheepskin and do the same as above with it. You won;t need newspapers underneath. Both the felt and the sheepskin are machine washable and drable, so you can change them every time they're soiled and put fresh ones down.

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your question. Separation anxiety can be difficult to manage. Some dogs do well in a kennel While others exhibit the same behavior and caused a mess in the kennel. I would recommend using something such as NaturVet Quiet Moments calm chews with Melatonin which can be found online quite easily or at your local Petco. I would also recommend using an Adaptil collar to see if this works. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.

A roof that does not leak and walls to protect against ran is needed. You will have to change the cedar chips out regularly and make sure to add a bed or blanket to snuggle in for extra warmth. Ideally on freezing nights you should bring him in and confine him to a garage or laundry room or bathroom if able
