Wellness, Weruva and Royal Canin are all good choices. When it comes to a canned food, look for one with a named protein source of animal (not plant) origin. Choose a food that comes from the can looking like a hockey puck. Avoid foods with gravies or sauces. These are typically higher in carbs which can predispose a cat to obesity. Avoid meat meals, by-products as well as store or discount brands. These latter two contain low quality ingredients and more fillers.

What are good, affordable wet cat foods better than Fancy Feast?
I really like Hill's Science Diet, Iams (very inexpensive), or Purina for better options that are much better than Fancy Feast. It is good that you want to go with a wet food, since cats are not big water drinkers. This will help promote good kidney and urinary bladder health. You can also mix in the wet food with dry to help stretch out the wet food and make it even more affordable! IF you are going to transition her to the new food, please make sure to do this over the course of a week to help avoid an upset stomach. How to choose wet food for two cats: pouches, cans, or both?
The single pouches are meant to be single serve per cat, and it gives the cat fresh wet food each time as opposed to the larger canned food that must be stored in the fridge if all of it isn't used at once. By a cost comparison, the pouches will be more expensive, so it's fine for you to give Wilkie and Orieo the half a can of the wet food instead. Brands I recommend including Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I hope this helps :-)

Should I alternate my kitten's wet food brands or keep it consistent?
Yes it is okay to switch back and forth between those two different pouches as long as she tolerates it. If she starts having loose stool then I would just pick one and stick with it. Most cats can tolerate a small variety but some cannot. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for posting. A brand that comes to mind that may be what you are looking for is Sojos which is freeze dried food. You add a small amount of water to it and the food pieces are on the softer side but not mushy. I hope this helps!
