She looks to be a domestic short hair cat which is not really a specific purebred but very common. Declawing can be very traumatic to cats and so I would not suggest having it done if it can at all be avoided. Something like soft paws that you can put over the nails is a good alternative. It is normal and common for cats to knead or "make biscuits" as a way of showing affection. The problem with kittens is that their nails are so sharp! I usually recommend trimming their nails every week to keep them short and dull, so it is not painful. Another option would be use Soft Paws ( https://www.softpaws.com/ ). Finally, you can sometimes utilize a blanket to have her knead on the blanket, so her claws do not touch your skin. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hello. I do not know what might be available in Canada, but I highly recommend looking at this website for the Veterinary Oral Health Council. Click on the Accepted Products link at the top, then on accepted products for cats. It will list everything that is truly tested to provide results. HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I have seen some cats develop long horny type growths on their paw pads. Possible causes are: papilloma or squamous cell carcinoma in situ (Bowen's disease), both caused by papillomavirus. Excision or treatment with imiquimod, retioid cream, or salicylic acid should be effective. If it doesn't bother Spooky, it most likely won't hurt to leave it alone (unless it becomes more malignant in behavior). It could also be benign hyperkertinized growths. They may need to be managed with sanding dows and or clipping regularly. You can also try Kerasol which is OTC or Snout Soother by American Dog co to help keep them soft. You can apply this 1-2 times daily. It may be best to have your Vet see the area first! Good luck

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! Cats should be on heart worm preventative. This maybe a seasonal recommendation depending on where you live. Also, the nail trimmers used with your dog can generally be used on your cat as well. Just be careful that the blades are sharp and fit the nail well. Always be aware of the quick of the nail and have something to help stop bleeding in case you hit the 'quick.'
