Here are a few products that may be similar for you to try out for James (cute name!) [Lafeber's Nutri-Berries](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/lafebers-nutri-berries-parrot-food): while not entirely pelleted, they are a nice mix of nutrients that are fun to eat and can be broken down to smaller sizes. [ZuPreem Avian Maintenance Natural](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zupreem-avianmaintenance-natural-bird-diet-for-parrots-and-conures): a good pelleted food that may be of a similar size to what you were feeding prior. They also offer[ ZuPreem Classic](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zupreem-classic-avianmaintenance-natural-bird-diet-for-large-parrots) which is a slightly larger size of the formulation, you may want to try out both to see if James prefers one to the other.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Thanks for helping these guys! I would recommend you continue to try this because most of the time, it just takes time for them to get better and trust you more. The secret recipe really is patience and being consistent. I would also recommend you try giving them treats as you pet them so they start associating your contact with something positive. This should work but again it will take time. Best of luck!

Most pet stores will carry a balanced diet specific for parrots that offer a complete and balanced diet. You can also offer some fresh fruits and vegetables as an added treat. If you just got your bird home, he may still be adjusting to the new environment and so may be reluctant to be as social. Offering treats may help. If you do see any signs of illness, however, then a vet check up is best.

You can definitely try to feed it, you will need to buy wet canned cat food such as Recovery or A/D (from your local vet) as well as a syringe, you will need to feed it every couple hours during the day (no need to feed during the night).

Thanks for your question. Fortunately, there are very few diseases that would be likely to go from a sparrow to you or Cleo. These diseases typically require a large amount of close contact and many of them are pathogens that you and your cat would come in contact with on a regular basis. Unless the bird produced droppings (urates/feces) while flying in your house, you will not need to disinfectant anything. If you wanted to clean the items that the bird came into contact with, that would not be a problem either, if it makes you feel more comfortable. I hope that helps to answer your question, and thanks for using Boop by Petco.
