Simparica Trio is a similar medication that treats fleas, ticks, heartworms, roundworms, and hookworms. It's a chewable tablet rather than a topical, but is easy to give and can help bridge the gap until you're back on your regular medication. It is best to confirm it is safe to give with your vet if Mia has any other underlying health conditions or issues, and your vet can order it or provide a prescription to an online service such as Chewy.

Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. You should monitor Purl for symptoms of vomiting, lethargy, lack of appetite, tremors, problems with balance. If you notice any of these signs, you should get your puppy checked by your local vets right away. According to the manufacturer's data the symptoms are NOT likely to develop after ingesting this dose. You should give your bigger dog another tablet to get the right dose for 22-44 pound weight (that should be 24mg of sarolaner, moxidectinum 0.48mg and pyrantelum 100mg).

These products are overall very safe. In all likelihood, nothing will happen. In dogs with a low seizure threshold, it could contribute to seizures. We typically don't recommend inducing vomit unless we know the ingestion will cause harm, as vomit induction has it's own list of side effects. Monitor Karyn at home for 24 hours, and once that time has passed, I would not worry about it any longer.

It is ok to give trifexis and simparica together (staggered by 2 weeks is great). Both of those medications will protect against fleas so there is some overlap with that. If you want to streamline how many medications you are giving Dakota monthly, Another option would be to use sentinel or interceptor instead of the trifexis and give with that with simparica monthly. These products contain the same heart worm preventative (milbemycin) as trifexis but do not contain any medication to kill adult fleas. (Trifexis contains both the milbemycin for heart worm prevention and Spinosad for fleas). That way you would be giving one medication for heart worm prevention (sentinel or interceptor ) and one for flea and tick prevention (simparica). Another option is to continue trifexis and add in a tick collar (such as the preventic collar or the seresto collar). I know there are so many products and options it is confusing ! Let us know if you have any other questions. And great job with preventa

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Belly. She should be ok. According to studies done by Zoetis who make Simparica, "In the overdose groups, transient and self-limiting neurological signs were observed in some animals: mild tremors at 3 times the maximum exposure dose and convulsions at 5 times the maximum exposure dose. All dogs recovered without treatment." You don't need to do anything. I hope this helps!
