My puppy has ticks, and current treatments aren't working. What helps?

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Charlie! I recommend the following products for ticks: Nexgard, Bravecto, Simparica or the Seresto Collar. The spot on treatments, bathing and powders do not work well anymore. Hopefully you can get one of the above products from your Vet. The Seresto collars can be found online but I have heard of counterfeit ones being sold on amazon so be careful of online sources. It is best to try to get them from your Vet. Seresto collar failed for dog fleas. What are the best alternatives?

If it does not seem to be working then I suggest you get him a different product. I like the oral pills either Bravecto or Nexgard. You can get these products at one of VETCO's clinics inside Petco stores. Take Jackson with you to the clinic. There is no exam fee. It would only be the cost of the product. What should I buy at Petco for my dog's flea dermatitis relief?

If there is a secondary bacterial infection, I would recommend using product called Duoxo Chlorhexidine + Calm shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved. I would also recommend picking up a hydrocortisone spray (Well and Good at Petco) and apply daily to the affected area to relieve inflammation. If it does not resolve or worsens, I would have a veterinarian take a look at Harley so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!

What's the best flea control for my dog: topical, collar, or chew?

I prefer spot-ons and chews over collars. The only collar I would recommend is Seresto. This, in my opinion would be superior to Frontline, as in many areas there are resistances to Frontline already.

When to start flea & tick for dogs: Collar, pill, or best brands?

I would recommend starting Flea and tick prevention now. If you use a collar I would recommend the Seresto collar. If you didn't want the collar than using a pill is typically the best for dogs. I don't see a lot of fleas and/or ticks when people use those products instead of topical. You can use Bravecto, Nexguard or Simparica. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.
