Because fleas are so problematic, flea prevention is essential! Commonly prescribed preventives include oral and topical medications—although injectable flea prevention is available, as well.

Hi and thanks for posting on Boop by Petco! For cats, I would recommend Revolution which a topical solution applied once monthly. It helps prevents fleas and intestinal parasites in cats. It is easy to use and very effective in cats. This is a prescription medication your can obtain through Jax's veterinarian. I hope this helps!

The most comprehensive protection you can get that is also the easiest to apply and has very, very few side effects would be Revolution. I highly recommend this. I will provide broad spectrum coverage for fleas, roundworms, hookworms, ear mites, scabies, etc. This will give you peace of mind. You can get this product easily by going to one of Petco's VETCO clinics inside their stores. Take Ford with you as the vet will need to see him. They do not charge an exam fee so all you will need to pay for is the product. Hope this helps. Revolution plus is a good option for Toby: https://www.revolutionplus.com/#6-in-1-protection You can also use a Seresto collar for fleas and ticks and use an additional product for heartworms/intestinal worms: https://www.petbasics.com/cat-products/seresto-for-cats/?pref=cat I hope this helps.

Hi I would suggest you buy a box of 6 pipettes of Revolution. Make sure you apply one pipette on each cat to the skin to the back of their neck, so it’s important you part hair when applying it. You need to repeat it every month. I would also suggest you spray the environment to kill all eggs and larvae present. I am sure they will be able to advise you on which spray is best according to the size of your house and people living in it. https://www.petsmart.com/cat/pharmacy/rx-medication/revolution-for-cats-5.1-15-lbs-5273301.html

You are correct, revolution will not kill ticks and is only effective against fleas, heartworm, intestinal roundworm, hookworm and ear mites. If ticks are a threat in your area than a product containing fipronil (frontline spray) can be used after 10-14days When next treatment is due, discuss broader treatments with your vet including broadline (ticks, fleas and worms) spot on or using separate internal and external parasite preventions to treat fleas/ticks and worms separately to ensure all risks are covered
