Choosing flea, tick, heartworm meds: Revolution, Advantix, Heartgard?

Congratulations on your new dog! I like Revolution if you are looking for a topical product. It consistently works well and is well tolerated. If you like the idea of an oral product better, I like Trifexis (it’s another all in one product). Sometimes though the pets can smell the Trifexis and they won’t eat it. In that instance, I like Simparica and Interceptor. My personal preference is oral products. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

My cat has flea allergies. What are the best products to use?

I would recommend using Revolution for at least 3 months. If Jackie has a skin infection she may need antibiotics. You would have to have a physical performed at your veterinarian to determine this. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Love his name! That is awesome! I would recommend Revolution or Advantage Multi. I personally like Advantage Multi better. Any product containing a heartworm prevention is a prescription item so you need to get your vet to either dispense the product or write you a script. I hope this helps. Best of luck with your move!

Hello, I agree with your veterinarian's recommendations. Advantage Multi for cats is a good product which covers against fleas, roundworms, ear mites, hook worms and heart worm so this may be a good product. Revolution does the same, although the advantage multi ingredient seems to be more effective against heart worms. Hope this helps and best of luck.

My cat needs Revolution. How can I get a prescription quickly?

I'm so sorry but it is against the law for us to write prescriptions over the internet without having personally examined the pet. You can go to one of Petco's VETCO vaccination clinics (bring the cats with you) and they can get you the Revolution after the vet examines the cats. There is no charge for the exam, just for the product. Call first and make sure they will have the Revolution with them.
